the Negroni pattern from Collette Patterns is my new favorite men’s shirt pattern.
D chose the fabric, which is pure linen, at the Cotton Shop, (which is now closed, boo!), and I made it when C went out of town for a weekend…
it was my first (and hopefully last) time matching plaids.
I used the free asymmetrical pocket variation for the flaps.
the finished shirt is a little tight on his shoulders, because my dude has massively large shoulders, so I’ll go up a size next time, and then just trim in the waist of the large. I’m definitely not complaining about my husband’s musculature.
I faced the cuffs, yoke, and collar in solid green linen (left over from D’s shorts), because it matched perfectly, was slightly heavier weight, and was NOT PLAID). I also embroidered his monogram on the inside of the yoke, but I haven’t photographed that yet.
I really want to do this again soon, as I LOVED the collar. LOVE LOVE LOVED it. so easy. I really appreciate good patterns and directions.
